The building, located at 400 W. Main Street, just west of the Capitol, dates back at least to the early 1900s and operated as a manufactured gas plant for Ameren — and power plant for the Missouri Power and Light Co., and Jefferson City Light, Heat and Power Company before that — until the mid-1980s.

THE MILLBOTTOM

The Millbottom is a completely reclaimed and renovated historic power plant that has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind event center for the Central Missouri area.  The center has an indoor capacity of 300 people with the ability to expand to 1,200 people for an indoor/outdoor event.

Great venue in Jefferson City! Very hip and industrial feel.

THE MILLBOTTOM: POWER PLANT TO EVENT center

Millbottom Event Center, formerly an Ameren power plant, has been completely renovated, with the largest space being 4,700-square-foot. This main room once housed the power plant's boilers that supplied power to Jefferson City.

The expansive area features a huge arched window, exposed steel beams and overhead crane, original to the power plant. There is an indoor/outdoor bar, a caterer’s kitchen with commercial refrigeration, caterer’s sinks and other equipment; and a mezzanine level that adds another 800-square-feet of space to the venue. The Millbottom is perfect for all types of events from corporate meetings/socials to wedding receptions.
